Running for Congress - Vying for Senior's Rights

Carl Marlinga received his undergraduate degree from the University of Detroit Mercy, summa cum laude. He earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Prior to joining the court, Marlinga was in private practice from 2004 to 2012. He served as the Macomb County Prosecutor from 1985 to 2004, and previously worked as an assistant United States Attorney. Marlinga has worked as an adjunct professor for the Wayne State University criminal justice department, teaching Constitutional Criminal Procedure and the American Court System.

 

In 2022, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Carl Marlinga would lead the Elder Abuse Task Force as a Special Assistant Attorney General. The Task Force launched in 2019 and consists of more than 55 different organizations in the public, private and nonprofit sections – all working together to combat elder abuse.

Marlinga is currently running the U.S. Congress for Michigan's 10th District.
