Sexuality and Aging

With Dr. Melanie Davis

Dr. Melanie Davis has a PhD in Human Sexuality Education. As a certified sexuality counselor and educator, her mission is to help people learn about and enjoy healthy sexuality. Her work in sexuality education began in 1984, when Melanie became a Planned Parenthood patient educator. In 1999, she was trained to facilitate the “Our Whole Lives” Sexuality Education curriculum.

Today, she manages the curriculum and its implementation for the Unitarian Universalist Association, and she wrote the newest edition in the lifespan series, Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education for Older Adults. She is a partner in the New Jersey Center for Sexual Wellness and is the founder of SaferSex4Seniors.org - an online educational site for sexually active and/or interested adults in mid- and older age. Melanie approaches sexuality as a positive part of life that should be treated with respect, care, integrity, celebration, and humor throughout the lifespan.
